Inclusive Education Program
Under R.A. 11650 (Inclusive Education Act), we provide reasonable accommodations for children with special needs.
Our Philosophy
We believe every child belongs. Children with special needs learn alongside their typically developing peers, with individualized support and reasonable accommodations. Inclusion benefits everyone – children learn empathy, patience, and acceptance.
Conditions We Welcome
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1) – requiring support, integrated with visual schedules, PECS, sensory breaks
- Global Developmental Delay (mild-moderate) – extra support in communication, motor skills, daily living
- ADHD – structured routines, movement breaks, positive behavior support, shadow if recommended
- Speech and Language Delay – PECS, choice boards, extra wait time, coordination with Speech Therapist
- Down Syndrome (mild) – modified instructions, visual supports, shadow if recommended
Individualized Inclusion Plan (IIP)
Every child with special needs has a written IIP developed with parents, teachers, and therapists. Includes: strengths and challenges, specific goals (communication, social, academic, safety), accommodations and modifications, behavior support plan. Reviewed quarterly with parents.
Individualized Safety Plan (ISP)
Emergency drill adaptations for children with sensory sensitivities or mobility needs. Earthquake: Turtle Pose modifications. Fire: noise-canceling headphones. Lockdown: sensory kit in hiding spot. Assesses elopement (wandering) risk. Reviewed annually.
Shadow Teacher Integration
For children requiring 1:1 support, parents may hire a shadow teacher (therapist or SpEd professional). The Academy provides: workspace, integration into classroom routines, supervision, access to IIP and materials. Parent signs Shadow Teacher Integration Contract. Monthly coordination fee: ₱1,000 (shadow salary paid directly by parent).
Visual Supports
Visual schedules show daily activities in picture form, reducing anxiety about transitions. PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) allows non-verbal children to communicate by exchanging pictures for wants, needs, and feelings. Choice boards and "First-Then" boards also available.
Sensory Breaks & Safe Corner
Designated "Safe Corner" with dim lights, soft cushions, fidget toys, and weighted lap pads. Children may request a sensory break when feeling overwhelmed. Staff trained in sensory processing and de-escalation. Sensory kits also available during lockdown drills.
Inclusion Conference
Before enrollment, we conduct a mandatory Inclusion Conference with parents, Center Director, and external therapist (if available). We discuss accommodations, behavior support, safety adaptations, and financial terms. An IIP is drafted within 14 days.
